May 2012 - A Light Meditation

Greetings, All

This is a meditation via The Spiritual Mystery School that I'm honored to share with you this month. Enjoy the skies, celebrate the heart, love the Self. - Kohelet

Holding The Light Meditation

Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths and relax.
At this time of greatest light, we meditate on light as a symbol of spiritual energy.
Breathe now gently and deeply and with each breath become aware of the light that surrounds you and the light that is within you -- the light that is the energy of Our Great Mother.
The light can be any color. It is often imagined as white -- like bright sunlight. But it can be any color, any intensity, that is best for you. Blue, green, yellow, purple, rose; we know that light can also be black. The light may stay the same color for you during this meditation or it may change from color to color, or become a blend of many colors.
See the light now in your minds eye. This light is all around us, we are bathed in its brightness, energy, and warmth.
(Pause)
Focus on the light until you sense that you and the light are one. This will be your signal that you can now bring the light inside you.
(Pause)
When you bring the light inside you, one way is to let it stream in through your crown chakra at the top of your head. (If it has already entered another way, that is okay.)
The light -- this healing energy -- flows through you now, from your crown, down to your third eye (between your eyebrows) to your throat, your shoulders and your arms, and your hands, to your heart, your stomach, shining brightly at your solar plexus just above your navel, to your sex organs, shining too at your tailbone. The healing light travels down through your legs, your knees, your ankles and your feet. Feel the warmth of this healing energy now as it travels all through your body.
(Pause)
Now sense the one part of your body where the light can shine the brightest and imagine the light there. See it shine.
(Pause)
Now send the light out from that part of your body where it shines the brightest. Send it out a few inches from your body.
(Pause)
Now extend your light out from your body just a little more, then a little more, until your light extends a few feet from your body. Now, if you like, extend your light to reach your sisters. Our lights meet and we are connected by this great light, connected by our renewed knowledge of Our Great Mother. Take a few minutes now to sense this energy and this connectedness.
(Pause)
Now take from this light the energy that you need, and know that there is plenty for all. For the Source of this light is endless and ever abundant. Take a moment to experience Her abundance, and know that as you partake of Her light and Her love, so do you give your light and your love. And as you give energy, so do you receive it. And thus does the circle of life continue.
(Pause)
And as we come back now to this time and place, let us give thanks for the return of Our Great Mother, and for our return unto Her.
Sun King
O tell me why, O tell me why,
Tell me why must the eclipse come
To darken the sky.
O tell me why, O tell me why,
Tell me why must the moon come
to darken the sky.
This is the wake of Lugh the Sun King
He lost his life on the Solstice day;
This is the wake of Lugh the Sun King
He steps into the dark and guides the way.

April 2012 - Prayer

Dear friends

I'm jazzed about April 2012 because I'm witnessing a power coming from combining desire and water. It's quite special.

April's a month of transition and transpiration. Literally. You've been with me in these past posts as I've shared ideas about water and this month stays in that flow. This time, however I 'm talking not so much about what water is but how it can be used to further Prayer. Yes! This month's topic is: Prayer.

Let's say that prayer is (utilizing the four wolds/stages of kabbalistic substance evolution) that which springs from the heart as feeling/desire, concept/idea, hope, and yes, substance! What fun!

For example, A feeling/desire occurs in one's heart. That feeling flows through one's system and takes form as a concept. At that point it is concrete enough to garner anticipation, or hope/seeing of a real possibility of taking place.

Then, with work and continued attention, it becomes tangible/substantial. Someone thinks of flying-feels it deep from within; conceives of a possibility via materials that resemble bird's wings; learns enough about the desire and the materials to actually hope/seeing the result enough to convey the concept to others via blueprints/designs. Having brought others into the desire, the idea of flying eventually becomes a reality.

Water.

Water is a sealer. Water is to thought like sealing wax is to an intimate, personal handwritten letter. One intrusts to water the blessing that the heart's desire will flow to its intended substantial evolutionary destination.

And that is Prayer.

Think of something, hold it dear, see it everywhere you go, write about it-draw it out. Drink a glass of clear, pure water. Then go to work and allow that desire to reach its substantial destination. That's Prayer. That's Water.

Wishing you many desires,

The Kohelet

March 2012 - Narrow Roads

Goal selection is an arduous task. Unless you are forthright, of stalwart spirit, and already fully dedicated to your cause, no matter what, having a goal is an invitation to The Dissuasion Party.. The good part is that once the Party starts you are assured your goal is real and worth your commitment.

Narrow Roads  are recognized as routes which lead to desired final destinations with room to put one foot in front of the other. That's it. That's life. Or rather, that's your  selected, chosen life for that particular goal.

As Spring in the Northern Hemisphere begins to peek around its last hurrah set of stormy times, and in the Southern Hemisphere, Summer begins to wane, gather up your inner strengths and know, really know, that success comes with help from many, but the prize belongs to the steward of the intention.

An intention is a heartfelt desire that springs from the soul. It is a focusing of a desire to recognize being real.

A Narrow Road is what you oftentimes must walk in order to bring that intention to life. The cool thing is, is that when you're on the Road, your landscape is vast, free, and open. It is only when you do things not in favor to your goal/intention that the cliffs become unscalable, the crevices and ravines too deep to imagine, and the view itself invites debilitating vertigo.

Breathe deeply, create a supportive attitude and posture, time yourself well, be gentle, kind, and focused, and enjoy the immense rewards of the joy of walking a narrow road. It is not for everyone. You are special.

Blessings,
The Kohelet

February 2012 - Timing

Friends,
The passages in our lives that we recognize offer us present insights and invite us to attend in relation to our circumstances. However, the passages in our lives which are more elusive tend to cause us reasons to review and offer us opportunities to gain knowledge in retrospect to our circumstances. The concept for this month, February, is Timing.

Timing embraces relationship. One may be in the right or wrong place at the right or wrong time. One may be just in time, on time, or perhaps behind the times as well as ahead of one's time. The point is, through meditation (however you wish to define the practice), mindful living, and consideration and awareness of others in relation to self and world/Universe, time can become more and more a friend and companion for you and your associates - whether they are family members, friends, co-workers, or strangers. Living involves timing.

I offer this meditation. First breathe, for breathing is an excellent definition of timing. Then understand your heart. Do this by saying, "Every beat of my heart puts me in time with the pulse of the Universe". Lastly, begin to look people in their eyes more and more when interacting with them. Adjust your time to theirs; be in time with their place and all the while, know that time is a tool to carry one through passages. Being in relation is a way to be in time. Thus does the orchestra make beautiful music.

May this month be one of harmony and joyful timing for each of you. May your breathing which connects you to the outer world and your heartbeats which connect you to your inner worlds bring you to sacred space and pleasant passages.

Namaste,
The Kohelet

January 2012 - Attitude

Dear Friends

Attitude is amazing. I find that it surrounds and accompanies me everywhere I go. I will talk this year about healing and meditation. I will tell you of an upcoming meditation workshop. I will, above all, discuss Attitude.

I associate with many dancers. Watching them practice perfecting their corporal attitudes (posture, alignment, balance, etc.) is a wonderful way for me to see psychological attitudes mirrored in life as choice, temperment, breath, and health. I love how these dancers embrace music-they capture rhythms wherever they find them - because their bodies have attitudes ready at the go. They recognize and seize upon opportunities to challenge their training and set standards for their attitudes which result in competence, confidence, and healthy companionship.

Have Attitude this month.

Align the posture of your soul with the balance of your body. Find rhythm in the world and in your heart. Listen to and hear music in the voices of your loved ones and those you consider strangers. Welcome the adjustment. Like evey new, hopeful goal, step lightly at first. Go gently in and amongst those who know more, whose feet are stronger, whose attitudes are more pliable, and whose health, whether mental or physical, has embraced sovereign attitude - that which through the trials and tribulations of life, claims its own True North, its own anchored connection in the strength of its own mythic truth.

Now here is the information about the upcoming meditation workshop!:
